Comparing implant offices around Schaumburg: what to ask
Schaumburg has many places offering implants, from family practices to large implant centers. A fair comparison looks past the headline number. Ask each office:
- Who places the implant and who fits the teeth? At Omni Dental, both happen in one office.
- What does the written estimate include? Look for the exam, X-rays, any extraction or bone graft, temporary teeth and the final tooth.
- Is a smaller plan possible? Two implants holding a bridge, or implants under a snap-in denture, can sometimes replace a full arch plan.
- Who looks after the implant later? Omni Dental offers cleanings, exams and laser therapy for gum disease in the same office.
One missing tooth, a few teeth or a full arch?
The right plan depends on how many teeth are missing and where. Here is how implants and their alternatives usually line up:
| Your situation | Common implant option | Option without implants |
|---|---|---|
| One missing tooth | A single implant and crown | A bridge or a small partial |
| Two or three teeth in a row | Two implants holding a bridge | A bridge or removable partial |
| No teeth left in an arch | A full arch of fixed teeth on implants | Removable dentures |
| A loose denture | A denture that snaps onto implants | A reline or a new denture |
An implant replaces the root as well as the crown, so it keeps the jawbone in use. It also takes the longest from start to finish. If you are missing most of your teeth, read how All-on-4 treatment works.

Is it worth getting dental implants at 70?
For many people it is. Age on its own is rarely the deciding factor. Gum health, bone, medical conditions, medications and how you heal matter far more.
Many older adults start with a loose lower denture, and a few implants under it can make eating and talking much easier. Dr. Poles reviews your health history with you and explains whether you are a good candidate.

What sets the price of an implant?
Your fee depends on the number of implants, any extraction or bone graft, and the crown, bridge or denture on top. Insurance may help with parts of the treatment, depending on your plan.
Omni Dental accepts most major dental plans, including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Delta Dental and MetLife. For a full breakdown of the factors, see what implants cost.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do not see your question? Call us and we will talk it through.
Call (847) 483-8833How much do dental implants cost in Illinois?
There is no single price. The total depends on how many teeth you replace, whether you need an extraction or bone grafting first, and the crown, bridge or denture on top. After your exam and X-rays, ask for a written estimate to review before any work begins.
How can I get dental implants if I can't afford them?
Start with a consultation so you know every option. Treatment can sometimes be done in phases, one area at a time, and insurance may help with parts such as the exam, X-rays or extraction. Dr. Poles can also explain a bridge or denture if an implant does not fit your budget right now.
How much is 3 implants without insurance?
Three missing teeth do not always need three implants. If the teeth sit side by side, two implants holding a bridge may work. The fee also changes with bone grafting and crown materials, so a personal treatment plan after your exam is the only reliable way to know your number.
Can I get a second opinion on an implant plan from another office?
Yes. Bring your X-rays and the written plan you were given. Dr. Poles can review your mouth, explain whether he would suggest the same number of implants, and point out other options, such as a bridge or an implant-held denture, so you can decide with confidence.
How many visits does implant treatment take?
Most cases need a consultation, a placement visit and at least one visit for the final tooth, plus short check-ups while you heal. The bone needs several weeks to a few months to bond with the implant, so plan on a process of months rather than days.
What should I bring to my first implant consultation?
Bring a photo ID, your dental insurance card if you have one, a list of your medications and any recent dental X-rays from a previous dentist. Write down your questions too, such as how you want the new tooth to look and how much time you can set aside.
